In an interview with CNBC, Bajaj Auto MD, Rajiv Bajaj has revealed that between March and June 2015, the manufacturer will launch a slew of new products in the premium segment. In a bid to increase their market share from the current, below 20% level, the long awaited, fully faired, Bajaj Pulsar SS200 and the SS400 will be launched, starting next month. The manufacturer will aim at a bigger pie of the entry-level sports segment, which it already dominates with a market share of 45%.

While the Pulsar AS200 and the 150 NS are almost certainly a part of the six launches in the coming months, in a surprise announcement, Mr Bajaj revealed that a new Avenger will also hit the market. Soldiering on without any design changes since it was first launched as a Kawasaki Eliminator back in 2001, the last update the cruiser received was in the form of a 220cc, 18.7 bhp engine it borrowed from the Pulsar 220. The updated Avenger could this time borrow its powerplant from the Pulsar 200 NS, which although smaller in size, pumps out a healthy 23.5 bhp. Bajaj might or might not make changes to the design, as the bike still manages to find 3000 odd owners each month, although one can expect minor styling updates and the addition of new color shades. What would really take everyone by surprise though is the CS400, if it manages to make a Houdini like appearance in showrooms out of nowhere. However, since the bike hasn’t been caught testing like all the other products, Bajaj will most probably launch it sometime later.
