Bajaj Blade 125 Might be BAL’s Upcoming Scooter

Bajaj Blade 125 Launch

Regulars here might remember that we recently reported that Bajaj Auto is working on re-entering the Indian scooter market by coming up with an automatic scooter. The Bajaj automatic scooter might be out by the middle of this year and it has now emerged that Bajaj might come out with a scooter based on the Blade 125 concept that was previewed donkeys years ago.

Powering the Blade 125 is a 125cc-air cooled four stroke engine that features a 4 valve head. The motor is mated to a CVT transmission and safely expect the engine to get the DTSi treatment in the production spec scooter.

It is being said that the Bajaj scooter might feature the same engine that does duty on the Discover 125 ST motorcycle.

The Blade will be equipped with front telescopic shock absorbers, 12 inch wheels, digital instrument cluster, front fuel filling, front disc brake and electric start when (and if) it goes on sale.

It may be noted that the Indian scooter segment is fast growing and we saw Piaggio introducing Vespa LX125 premium scooter last year. Also coming our way are more powerful automatic scooters from various biggies. Hence, it makes some sense for Bajaj to re-enter the scooter segment with a well sorted out product.

  1. In the recent con-call the CFO, Mr. Kevin Dsa, straight away denied launching any scooter. I guess this is just a rumor that is being floated.

  2. automatic scooters has been booming in recent years, especially in Indonesia in which it is desirably preferable than any other types. If BAI (Indonesian subsidiary of BAL), or perhaps the joint company of Bajaj and Kawasaki is contemplating to launch a scooter model, Blade is sure the selection. the prototype model must have been improved beautifully
