Bajaj Auto launches Avenger 220 DTS-i

The rumors of the Avenger 220 DTS-I having already been ‘launched’ have been floating on quite a few automotive sites for more than a week now. However, Bajaj has confirmed the launch of the bike on 26th of July. The company has confirmed the launch of the new 220cc Avenger DTS-I, featuring more power and an array of new inclusions.
The new Avenger, now with a higher capacity engine boasts of better power and torque output statistics. The bike now produces a peak power of 19.03 Ps (against 17.5PS delivered by the earlier version) and a peak torque of 17.5 Nm (against 16.8Nm of the previous version).

Apart from the increase in the power output, the bike now also comes with a DC circuit that gives it a constant light intensity even while riding at low rpms. Some more features have been added like dual density seating, battery charge level indicator on the tank, maintenance free battery etc. The bike is also claimed to feature a new, low trigger start rpm which helps the bike come to life at a lower rpm, helping it start more conveniently.
Commenting on the launch, Mr.S.Sridhar, President (Motorcycle Business) Bajaj Auto, said:  “I am very pleased to showcase the 220cc Avenger DTS-i. The journey that our R&D team started few years ago continues its forward march and today we have further enhanced the pleasure of riding a genuine cruiser bike. It is a tribute to bikers who appreciate a technologically superior and stylish product and a ride experience different from any other.”
Added Mr. Milind Bade, GM Marketing, Bajaj Auto: “Our internal research suggested that bikers are looking for more power. Yes while they ‘Felt like God’ while riding the Avenger, yet they preferred more power. The long-and-low new Avenger 220 now has everything from power and performance to comfort, to fully realize the dreams and aspirations of this motorcycle consumer.”
The 220cc Avenger has been priced at Rs 69000/- ex-Delhi showroom, and comes with a longer warranty period of 18 months.
