The HiAce is a full size MPV that has seats for ten people. At the Expo, Toyota showcased the Grand Cabin variant of the Hiace. Powering the Toyota HiAce is a 3.0 liter four cylinder diesel engine that has a max power of 134 hp at 3,400 rpm and peak torque of 300 Nm at 1,200 rpm. The engine comes mated to a four speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to the rear wheels. Also available in international markets is a 2.7-liter petrol engine that has a max power of 148 hp and peak torque of 241 Nm.

Toyota has so far refrained from revealing any plans of launching this MPV in India. However, with the fast growing MPV segment of Indian car market and players like Force Motors, who plan to launch a full sized MPV in near future, we won’t be too surprised to see Toyota Kirloskar Motors bringing the HiAce to our shores.

its a great and sweet looking van, it does make sense in india as we are in need for a premium/luxury van which could serve large indian families.it can also be modified as a caravan for a small family of 4 also. it will a great van for airport pickups and also for sightseeing. it has multiple uses in commercial and also individual use.

corporates can make a good use of this van by using it for their employee-incentive trips to any hill stations and also use it to boost their company’s reputation by using it as a client-visit van for their employees. i have travelled in it in dubai and the suspension was really good as it was a top of the line.

  2. The design doesn’t look that suited to India i.e; ultra wide body coupled with ultra low grond clearance.
