The RS7 made its public debut exactly a year back at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show last year and is basically a hi-performance variant of the highly successful A7.

One glance at the RS7 is enough for your brain to register that this car is meaner than the A7 and the S7 siblings. The RS7 sports bigger air intakes, a honeycomb grille, faux aluminium mirror housings and twin oval exhaust tips to differentiate it from the ‘lesser’ variants. Also helping with the differentiation are the tastier 20-inch mag wheels.

Optional extras include bigger 21 inch wheels and matte-aluminum and carbon-fiber appearance packages that include large Quattro lettering on the grille, modified front splitter and rear diffuser.

On the inside, the car comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a 200-mph speedometer. Other than these, the car also has a color display that shows data like oil temperature, boost pressure and a digital shift light.

Talking about the things that matter the most, powering the car is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 motor that has a peak power output of 560hp@5700rpm and max torque rating of 516lb-ft@ 1750 rpm. All this torque is transmitted to the four wheels through an eight-speed ZF auto boxThe new RS7 benefits from a cylinder deactivation system and a stop-start system to have a fuel economy rating of 21mpg in European combined cycle.

If company figures are to be believed, the Audi RS7 can hit the 100kmph mark from standstill in a supercar-rivalling 3.9 seconds and go on to flirt with a top whack of almost 250 kmph. On opting for performance boosting packages, the top speed is raised to 304 kmph!
