We have always known that German luxury car maker Audi plans to launch a sedan version of the Audi A3 in developing car markets like that of India. What we have here are the first ever spy pics of the Audi A3 sedan. The car was seen being tested in southern Europe. As can be made out from the pic, the Audi A3 sedan is currently in initial stages of development. The much publicized MQB platform underpins the Audi A3 and the car will borrow lot of styling cues from the A3 sedan concept that was seen at 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
It has now emerged that the car might make its Indian debut as soon as in late 2013. The Audi A3 sedan will come to us with a price tag of around INR 22 lakhs .
The A3 sedan, which is almost a shoe size smaller than the A4 sedan, measures 4.4 metres in length and will battle it out against more established rivals like the Honda Accord, Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Passat and the likes.
Engine options on the A3 sedan would be:
- 1.4 TFSI, 125 hp
- 1.8 TFSI, 160 hp
- 2.0 TFSI, 200 hp
- 1.6 TDI, 90 hp
- 1.6 TDI, 105 hp
- 2.0 TDI, 140 hp
- 2.0 TDI, 170 hp
