Ashok Leyland wins defence contracts worth INR 800 crore

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, and the largest suppliers of logistics vehicles to the Indian Army, has won orders valued at INR 800-crore from the Indian armed forces. The company will supply 450 units of Field Artillery Tractor (FAT) 6×6 and other similar Super Stallion vehicles; along with 825 units of Ambulance 4×4.

Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland said, “The orders for Field Artillery Tractor (FAT) 6×6 and Ambulance 4×4 are in keeping with the momentum witnessed recently in the area of upgradation of technology and resources by the defence forces.  Field Artillery Tractor (FAT) 6×6

The Field Artillery Tractor (FAT) 6×6 is based on the Super Stallion platform, and will function as a Common Gun Tower for all artillery guns. This FAT provides the Army flexibility in rapid deployment and utilisation of artillery resources. The vehicle can be used for a variety of applications across logistics and tactical segments.

Ambulance 4×4

The air-conditioned Ambulance 4×4 has been conceived to provide medical support in the immediate aftermath of injuries. A double-walled insulated body maintains inside temperature, while rear air suspension reduces shocks during transportation. All equipment in the Ambulance 4×4 meets Advanced Life Support standards.
