Piaggio had remained tight lipped about the new Aprilia SR 150 launch, till now. The Italian manufacturer has now confirmed that the Aprilia SR 150 will ride into the Indian market on August 22, 2016. Dubbed as India’s first crossover, the SR 150 was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto expo in Delhi. This new Aprilia will be available at an introductory price of INR 65,000 (ex-showroom) which will rise after a few weeks.

The Aprilia SR 150 will be available in matte black and white and will draw power from a from a 154.4cc four-stroke air-cooled carburetor engine which is good for 10.4 bhp and 11.4 Nm of torque. Other highlights include a steel frame structure, a twin pod analogue instrument cluster, front apron mounted twin-pod headlight, tubeless tires and RSV 4 1000 RF Factory super-bike inspired styling.
The Aprilia SR 150 will be available through Piaggio’s dealership network in the country as well as their Motoplex’s across Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. The pre bookings for Aprilia SR 150 are also available through PayTm.com.
Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO, PVPL says that the SR 150 is a one of its kind from the Aprilia stable, especially since this bike is customized for the Indian market and produced locally. The crossover segment in India is in its nascent stage and the Italian two-wheeler maker is yet to see its full potential. With the Aprilia SR 150, Piaggio aims to capitalize on this opportunity.
