Honda has launched the all-new Jazz in India today, with prices ranging from INR 5.30 lakh to 8.59 lakh. (ex-showroom Delhi) An international best-seller, the first-generation Jazz was launched in 2001, and has sold more than 5.5 million units ever since. Now in its third generation, it is the Jazz’s second outing in India.
In India the Jazz is available with a choice of one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol engine is the 1.2-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder unit sourced from the Brio and Amaze, while the diesel engine is the 1.5-liter i-DTEC unit which does duty in the Mobilio, City and the Amaze.
The diesel will come exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission whereas the petrol variant can either be had with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT (Constantly Variable Transmission) with paddle shifters.
The 1.2-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine develops 90 PS at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm. Mated to the CVT, the Jazz petrol promises a claimed, class-leading, fuel efficiency figure of 19 km/l, while the MT delivers 19.7 km/l. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor develops 100 PS of power and 200 Nm torque, is rated to return a mileage of 27.3kmpl.
Upon launch, the 2015 Honda Jazz will be available in five different variants – Jazz E, Jazz S, Jazz SV, Jazz V and the top-end Jazz VX, which also gets the acclaimed ‘Magic Seats’ option that allows the 60:40 split rear seat to adopt numerous configurations to maximize the versatility of the spacious interior. Measuring 3955mm long, 1594mm tall, and 1694mm wide, along with a 2530mm wheelbase, the new Jazz also offers more interior room than its predecessor.

Key features in the higher variants include a touch-enabled AVN system with a 15.7 cm display with smartphone integration, DVD playback, black fabric upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel & gear knob, automatic AC with touch controls, paddle shifters (CVT only), electric folding OVRMs, seat-back pockets, power windows on all four doors, adjustable rear head-restraints, 15″ alloy wheels, ABS with EBD, dual air-bags and the aforementioned Magic Seats.
The new Jazz will be available in seven body paints: Sunset Orange, Urban Titanium Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Orchid White Pearl, Taffeta White, Golden Brown Metallic and Alabaster Silver Metallic. The all new Jazz will come with a 2-year or 40,000 Km warranty as standard value for all customers.

If these are Delhi Ex-Showroom prices then the mumbai Ex-Showroom prices will be 1 Lakh more. On road prices even more. When it comes to pricing, it Puts this hatchback in stratosphere. Horribly over priced for some industry standard equipment that it provides. If one is Tunnel visioned for mileage or the Honda badge, then they will cough up the money for a below par, car. If they would have put engine start n stop in the car, i would have given it a thumbs up. Some tech that other cars lack in the current scene, would have made this car an enticing proposition. But Honda is more keen on fooling customers and sell them the same old stuff with their own branding name. I mean Magic Seats for crying out loud. Havent we had 60:40 split seats forever already!!!
Seems like this time they got the pricing bang on.. The last one was way overpriced when it came..
