The Honda Fit hatchback, which is also sold with the Jazz moniker in many markets, has been representing the Japanese auto giant in the hatchback segment of many car markets since quite a few years. The Honda Fit has found a lot of favour owing to its roomy interiors and traditional Honda strengths such as proven reliability, refined petrol engine and decent engine performance. However, the Fit aka Jazz hasn’t been able to take our upper B segment by storm and much of this can be attributed to the high initial price tag and the lack of a diesel engine variant.

The next generation of Honda Jazz, which is being said to be in pipeline, might change fortunes of the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese car maker and it has today emerged that the new Jazz will make its public debut at the Tokyo Motor Show this November.

Underpinning the next gen Honda Jazz will be a new scaleable platform that will also underpin a sedan and a compact crossover/ SUV. It is expected that the new Jazz will get the 1.5 litres i-DTEC EarthDreams diesel engine that will power the Honda Brio Amaze entry level sedan in our market.
