The new Hyundai Verna Concept, which precedes the next generation Verna, or the Accent, or the Solaris has been previewed at the ongoing Auto China 2016. The Concept strongly hints at the design of the upcoming C-segment sedan, which will be governed by the company’s current Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Well, the appearance isn’t all-new, as the concept shows that the design exercise is a merely a comprehensive re-skinning over the current generation model.

On the concept, the front fascia is characterised by a trapezoidal grille with prominent chrome elements, while the up-swept, slim headlamps with projectors eat into the fenders. The concept promises that the new Verna’s sides will be toned down significantly as compared to now, with smooth horizontal lines replacing the current curves. Over at the back, the concept features bolder tail lamps with LED power, a chunky rear bumper and an integrated boot spoiler.

On closer inspection, the A-,B- and C-pillars have been retained from the current generation Verna, which means the coupe-like silhoutte stays. As of now, Hyundai hasn’t revealed the technical details like drive-train options or performance figures. A market launch of the production version of the new Verna is expected later this year in South Korea, while India has to wait till 2017.
