Barely a month ago we had reported that the 2017 Audi Q5 had been spotted testing in India for the first time. Now, the German luxury automobile manufacturer has officially teased the Q5 ahead of its debut on September 29th at the Paris Motor Show. The brand has released two teaser images of the next generation Q5 through a marketing campaign known as ‘Qriosity’.

The 2017 Audi Q5 has been teased earlier as well thorugh a teaser image featuring the LED tail lamp and a video giving us a few hints about the model’s interiors. The new teaser image, on the other hand, partially reveals the signature trapezoid shaped grille and matrix LED headlamps upfront.
Based on the company’s MLB Evo platform, the upcoming Q5 shares its underpinnings with other models such as the second generation Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and the fifth generation Audi A4. Compared to the outgoing model, the 2017 Q5 will shed weight to the tune of 100 kgs.

Engine details have not been revealed although it is likely that the next generation Q5 will be powered by the conventional range of TFSI petrol engines and TDI diesel engines. Transmission duties on these motors will be taken care of by either a six speed manual transmission or a seven/eight speed S-Tronic transmission. Reports suggest that the company could also unveil the performance oriented version of the Q5, christened as the SQ5 on the very same day.
