As reported yesterday, Ford India will apply a mild update to the Ecosport soon. While there will be absolutely no visual changes involved, apart from a new “Golden Bronze” shade of paint, the 2016 Ford Ecosport will add more features and a more powerful diesel engine. There will be an additional Trend+ variant as well. On the safety front, Ford India will also offer ABS and EBD as standard across all variants, except for the base Ambiente variant. Bookings for the 2016 Ford Ecosport have already commenced.

2016 Ford Ecosport variant details and feature break-up:
2016 Ford EcoSport Ambiente: In addition to the older variant, there will be a 12V power socket up front and fully tilting rear seat back.
2016 Ford EcoSport Trend: In addition to the older variant, the new Trend variants will get ABS and EBD as standard.
2016 Ford EcoSport Trend+: In addition to Trend, the + adds dual front air-bags, automatic climate control, distance to empty indicator, outside temperature display, econometer, average speed, average fuel efficiency, fog-lights, chrome trimmed grille, silver finished roof rails, and headlights with Signature light-guide (DRL strips).
2016 Ford EcoSport Titanium: In addition to the older variant, the new Titanium variant adds Smart Keyless entry, along with push button start.
2016 Ford EcoSport Titanium AT: No changes here, and it will continue with side and curtain airbags, Hill Assist, EBA, ESC and TCS etc.
2016 Ford EcoSport Titanium+: In addition to the older variant, the + adds automatic, rain sensiong wipers, automatic headlights, non-LED daytime running lights, interior chrome pack (inner door handles, cluster rings, cluster applique, tips on power window switches and AC regulator), a leather-wrapped handbrake lever, and an electro-chromatic inner rear view mirror.
For 2016, the 1.5L TDCi diesel engine is retuned to produce 100 PS and 205 Nm of torque.
