The 2016 Ford Ecosport has been teased by Ford India on their website. Let’s not get too excited though, as spy images (below) have revealed that there are absolutely no changes on the outside – nil. There’s a new ‘Golden Bronze’ shade on offer, and the headlamps will get integrated DRL strips – that’s about it. While we were expecting a significant face-lift, more on the lines of the Ecosport S Europe got earlier this year, this can be termed as a mild update.
For 2016, the diesel variant, powered by the same 1.5L TDCi motor is expected to be updated to produce 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque; similar figures on the Figo and Figo Aspire. Additional equipment will include automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, a 4″ display for the SYNC infotainment system and a reversing camera. On the safety front, all variants will now come equipped with a driver side airbag as standard.
