2015 Audi Q3 facelift India launch set for 18 June 2015

The 2015 Audi Q3 facelift is headed our way and will be officially unveiled on June 18 of this year. The premium compact crossover first rolled tyres in India in 2012. It was only since September of 2013 that Audi India began local assembly of the Q3 at its Aurangabad facility. It wasn’t long before the German carmaker introduced the entry-level Q3 S variant. This was the ‘diet’ variant of the Q3. So there’s no quattro AWD system or automatic gearbox. Anyway, let’s get back to the 2015 Audi Q3 facelift.

Talking of the exterior changes, the facelift Audi Q3 gets the familiar Audi hexagonal grille at the front. This larger grille is similar to the one found on the bigger Q7. Audi calls this a ‘3D Effect Singleframe grille’ and is now an all-black unit. This new grille gets a thick matte silver surround which neatly fuses with the headlight cluster. Talking of which, the India-bound facelift Q3 will get LED headlights as an option. The front bumper has been redesigned and now incorporate newer and larger air dams.

Changes to the rear of the 2015 Audi Q3 facelift aren’t very dramatic.

The 2015 Audi Q3 facelift will come with redesigned alloy wheels. The changes to rear, though minimal, are well executed. The bumper has been tweaked ever so slightly, but the biggest change here can be seen in the taillights. The cluster’s design has been reworked and you now get the LEDs instead of the usual bulbs. The facelift Q3 will likely come wearing newer shades of paint too.

The cabin hasn’t been reworked much. The fit & finish, as always, will be great.

Step inside the 2015 Audi Q3 facelift and you wouldn’t find any radical modifications. That said, the crossover will now sport an all-black colour scheme on the inside for a more sporty appeal. The other change you will notice is the all-new steering wheel. Audi have also made slight changes to the instrument console and there’s now a revised MMI system too. The centre console though, will mostly be carried over.

The headlights and taillights will now feature LEDs as an option.

On the power front, the 2.0-litre four-banger TDI motor will mostly remain unaltered. That said, we reckon the 2015 Audi Q3 facelift to get a reworked unit of the current engine. This improved TDI motor now chucks out 184 PS of power, which is higher than the outgoing model. Torque figure of 380 Nm will remain the same though. This engine will be married to a 7-speed S-tronic transmission, which will send its power to all four wheels. There could also be a FWD version of the facelift Q3 which will get a 6-speed manual gearbox. We also expect Audi India to bump the price of the 2015 Audi Q3 facelift by a slight margin.
