The much publicized upcoming 2015 Mercedes C Class isn’t the only entry level premium sedan that is in the making. Also in the works is the 2015 A4 by rival car maker Audi. The new gen 2015 Audi A4 will be seen making its public debut in the later-half of 2014. It may be noted that the current gen A4, which has been on duty since 2008 and has already undergone a facelift, is fast ageing and might not be able to be a potent rival to the upcoming 2015 C Class.
Audi A4 has so far been available in sedan and estate body variants. However, BMW recently unveiled the new 3 Series GT and as a result, Audi too might come up with a fastback variant of the new A4. The new variant of the A4 could be named as the A4 Vario.
The new A4 will grow in size and will hence offer increased interior space, especially to rear passengers. It may be noted that the A4 has been doing good business in China, where most of the luxury car owners re chauffeur driven. The next A4 will also be lighter than the current model by about 100kgs. This will be courtesy high usage of aluminium. The next A4 will also get a longer equipment list which will include a revised MMI system with a touch controlled interface.
There are good chances that the Audi A4 Vario will make its public debut soon after the launch of the sedan variant and will go on sale around 2016.
