It has now emerged that the new 2014 Range Rover Sport will make its public debut at the 2013 New York Motor Show that will be held towards the end of March.

The all new Range Rover Sport, which will be the second gen model, will draw several design cues from the new Range Rover and the Evoque. The car will be underpinned by the Range Rover’s new aluminium spaceframe chassis and this means that the new generation of the car would be at least 150 kgs lighter. The new Range Rover Sport will be around 4.83 m long and will be positioned above the upcoming Evoque LWB.

It is being said that the new car might come with a twin-slab front grille, prominent foglights and a faux skid plate. The car will come with a raked roofline, large front air intakes and a spoiler. The car might come in both five and seven-seat layouts.

Power options for the car will be the SUV maker’s 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine and the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine. The car might also get a 4.4-liter V8 diesel motor sometime after its launch. All the engines are sure to be mated to an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission.

On the inside, the car will get a lot of faux carbon fibre on its dashboard and will boast of a large display screen, a digital instrument cluster and a Harmon Kardon sound system.

The car will have an approx price tag of £57,000 which would see it battling it out against the BMW X5M, Mercedes ML63 AMG and the Porsche Cayenne GTS.
