Porsche has lifted the wraps off the India bound 2014 Porsche Cayman and Cayman S performance cars at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show. The baby 911, in its latest generation, gets a longer wheelbase, becomes lighter and comes with a wider track.

If Porsche is to be believed, the new car has become an even better handler and has become all the more involving-to-drive. Power options for the 2014 Porsche Cayman and Cayman S are mid mounted 275bhp 2.7 Litre and 325 bhp 3.4 Litre engines. Both the motors come with direct injection, six speed gearbox, start-stop system and brake energy regeneration as standard. An option of a 7 speed PDK transmission is also being offered.

The new Cayman gets an electro-mechanical steering instead of a hydraulic setup that features on the outgoing car.
