2014 Mercedes S Class Coupe: Details and Renderings

We were one of the first few to report that the upcoming 2014 Mercedes S Class will spawn as many as four different body types: Short-wheelbase Sedan, Long-wheelbase Sedan, Coupe and a Convertible.

Now, more details have emerged of the upcoming Mercedes S Class coupe.  It is being said that the upcoming S Class coupe will be the successor to the Mercedes CL-Class. The car has been codenamed as the C217 and the manufacturer might ditch the CL brand in favour of naming the new car as the S Class Coupe. The S Class Coupe will be based on the much publicized MRA platform and this will make the car lighter and stiffer than the outgoing model. The upcoming car will benefit from the Mercedes Magic Carpet Ride technology which is basically a camera-based damper adjustment system.

The car will be feature laden and the equipment list will include programmable instruments, extended voice control, heads-up display, knee and belt-integrated airbags.

Powering the 2014 Mercedes S Class Coupe will be a 435bhp 4.6 liter V8 motor. The AMG version coupled be powered by a 630hp 6-liter V12 engine.
