The 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift uncovered

2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift

Our friends at Team-Bhp have finally pulled the covers off the suspense surrounding the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift’s design. It was just today that we brought you a promotional teaser on the new Mahindra’s facelift which could be pre-booked on Snapdeal with a token amount of Rs.20,000/-. The 2014 Scorpio facelift is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs.30,000/- of the previous gen Scorpio.

Scheduled for official unveiling on the 25th of September 2014, the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift retains the same 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel motor of its predecessor. Power figures read 120bhp and 290Nm of twisting force sent to the wheels via an all new 320MT five-speed transmission which Mahindra claims to be an improved unit.

Exterior changes include new headlights with daylight running LED strip and LED tail lights. The new 2014 Scorpio also gets a revised bumper design, wheel arches and five spoke alloys found on the XUV 5oo. Changes to the interior read a refreshed dashboard with chrome-lined air conditioning vents and buttons for new automatic climate control. The 6 inch touchscreen infotainment system has also been carried over from the XUV5oo featuring navigation system and the rear view camera display.

Coming to the facelift on the new Scorpio, the front might look acceptable to many- but the rear seems a bit overly done. Automobiles do look deceptive in first hand images, and we’d rather wait till we see the car in flesh to pass on any further comments on the design part.

What’s your take?
