The 2014 Honda VFR800F looks like a completely new motorcycle- all thanks to a new headlight design featuring an LED lights- the first motorcycle in the Honda lineup to boast of. Similar to its elder sibling- the VFR1200F, self cancelling turn indicators are now integrated into the mirrors. The rear seat is more pillion friendly thanks to a wider tailpiece. The rider seat is adjustable from 31.06 inches to 31.85 inches with a more upright position- courtesy the 5 stage heated grip-equipped handlebar with a height spacer that has added an extra 15mm.
The 782cc V4-VTEC engine pumps out 104.5 bhp @ 10,250 rpm and 75 nm of torque @ 8500 rpm. Emphasis has been given more on cam timing and valve duration/ overlap to enhance low and mid-range power and torque. Talking of VTEC, only one pair of inlet and exhaust valves is operated during low revs and as the rpm rises switches to four valves.
The 2014 Honda VFR800F gets new set of 43mm Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) telescopic forks and a new aluminum single-sided Pro-arm swingarm mounted with an HMAS gas-charged rear monoshock featuring Pro-Link suspension linkage with remote spring preload and stepless rebound damping adjustment.
Braking and shedding speeds are managed by twin 310mm front floating discs with radially mounted four piston brake calipers and a 256mm single disc at the rear. A two-channel ABS system is standard and so is a single mode traction control.
The alloy wheels are constructed of new fine die-cast and come shod with tyre specs reading 120/70-17 at the front and 180/55-17 at the rear.
The 2014 Honda VFR800F gets a new dashboard housing a digital speedo and tachometer with gear position indicator. Other information bits on the dash includes a clock, fuel consumption, ambient temperature gauge and also an indicator for the heated grips.
For the first time, Honda is offering straight fit shift assist system for the VFR800F which provides race-style quick shifts without use of the clutch.
