We always knew that the F150 would be ‘the’ Prancing Horse to look for. The F150 has been in news ever since it first emerged that the Italian supercar maker is close to launching the Enzo successor. What everyone also knew was that the F150 will get a new name when it makes its public debut.

Now, the car has made its debut and it seems like the boffins at Ferrari couldn’t find a name which was apt enough for their latest flagship. Until they realized that they can very well name the new Ferrari as. . .err. . . the Ferrari.

So what we have here are the first set of official images of the new LaFerrari, which is Italian speak for the Ferrari.

The 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari is the fastest, quickest, most uncompromising, most powerful, most frightening and unarguably the most definite Ferrari ever.

Said to be the spiritual successor of the iconic Enzo, Ferrari LaFerrari comes with an exterior styling that oozes of sportiness, vitality, sophistication, passion and all other good things.

Powering the car is a 6.3 litre V12 engine that comes mated to Formula One inspired HY-KERS (HYbrid – Kinetic Energy Recovery System) to endow the sensuous car with 963 prancing horses. The LaFerrari (pardon the confusing Grammar) can dismiss 100 kmph from standstill in less than seconds

Regulars here would remember that Ferrari earlier ‘privately unveiled’ their new baby to a select audience and 499 out of the 700 guests who attended the private display have been selected to become the fortunate owners of the 499 units of LaFerrari that will be ever built.
