2014 Bugatti Veyron to Offer 1600bhp

The Bugatti Veyron has always been in news for being the fastest production car in the world. It has also been famous for its mighty engine setup which pumps out 1000 very healthy horses. Now, some news has emerged about the next generation Bugatti Veyron.

As per a report doing rounds on the web world, the new Bugatti Veyron will have an power output of . . hold your breath. . . 1600bhp!! The Veyron goes on sale next year and will have a top speed of close to 465 kmph. Not to mention the 0-100 kmph run of less than 2 seconds! Helping the new car will be a lighter kerb weight, which will be lesser by 250kgs. The wheels of the new car will be made entirely out of carbon fibre to reduce the unsprung mass.

The increased power output will have much to do with a bigger version of the current W16 that powers the Veyron. The new motor will displace no less than 9.6 litres. Also, there might be an electric motor employed to provide the extra power.

“We are working on the next super-sports car. The big challenge will be reducing weight – we are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fibre. We’re considering hybrids, too” said Bugatti’s chief vehicle engineer Jens Schulenburg to AutoExpress.
