The 2014 BMW R1200 RT (Reise-Tourer) has been spy shot by MotoStation. Caught testing in Southern France, its reported that four prototypes of the model were seen moving around in traffic between Montpellier and Nimes.
The 2014 BMW R1200 RT is reported to feature a water cooled engine against the air/oil cooled engine of the 2013 model. Though no further specifications have been reported, the 1170cc Boxer Twin powered motorcycle would be mated to a 6 speed gearbox and powering the wheels would be the trademark BMW shaft drive.
The BMW R1200 RT has been one of the Bavarian manufacturer’s most popular models sitting between the BMW F800 GT and the behemoth BMW K1600 GT/ GTL. A popular choice amongst authority vehicles, the BMW R1200 RT has been serving the police department in countries like USA, Hongkong, Ireland etc. In fact, it also serves as a fire bike in the UK.
Needs to be seen if there are any increments on engine performance with the new water-cooling feature. More details awaited.
