To me, this has to be one of the most awaited cars for the year. The Skoda Octavia / Laura defines the threshold of a proper car. Everything below it is a compromise, and everything above, arguably ostentatious. We love the Octavia for what its capable of, especially the 2.0 liter variant with DSG. And we have fallen some more in love with the car afer having seen this spy video.
The new Octavia will be the third generation car for the nameplate, will ride on the MQB platform and will draw its design inspiration from the Vision D concept.
In the video, the car looks every bit a Skoda with signature C-motif tail-lamps and the family grille. We love the low, wide stance of the car, and are quite convinced that it’ll be a substantially better looker than the current gen car. Our first impressions on size on seeing the video suggest that the 2013 variant will be bigger too.
Quite a few renderings of the new car have been doing the rounds on the Internet. No clear shots of the car have appeared yet though, this video being the clearest glimpse of the car yet.
