2013 Skoda Octavia Combi Revealed before Geneva Debut

Station Wagon/Estate variants of well known sedans haven’t ever managed to clock decent sales figures in Indian car market. The Indigo Marina, Corsa Swing, Sienna Weekend, Baleno Altura, Octavia Combi, et al. None of these could ever capture the imagination of Indian car buying lot. However, estate variants of popular sedans have been doing pretty well in the European market and most auto makers make it a point to come up with an estate variant soon after launching a new sedan in Europe.

We reported in detail when Skoda revealed the 2013 Skoda Octavia D segment sedan and now, the auto maker has revealed the Combi (estate) variant of the new Octavia. The details of the 2013 Skoda Octavia Combi have been released before the car goes for its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new Octavia Combi has 11cms longer wheelbase than its predecessor and 7.3cms of this extra wheelbase go into making the rear leg space even better. Overall, the car is longer than the predecessor by 90mm and wider by 45 mm. The car has a cavernous boot space of 610 litres. The boot space can be increased to 1740 litres with rear seats folded. Even the front passenger seat can be folded down to further increase the boot space.

Powering the new Combi will be the same engines that will go on sale with the sedan. This means that the car gets a range of TSI petrol motors a pair of diesel engines.
