We have been regularly bringing you updates about the 2013 BMW X1 facelift due for launch in India. And the covers have finally gone off the Bimmer on Valentines Day with Bollywood actress Diya Mirza unveiling the new 2013 facelifted BMW X1.

The new X1 features a redesigned front bumper with a dash of silver for that added ‘premium’ feel. The grille design has been tweaked and the fog lamps have been planted a bit deeper. The headlamp styling has been retained, but subtle changes have been made within. Tail-lamps, ORVMs, side sill and the rear bumper too have received minor design upgrades. The facelift gets new alloy designs and colors to choose from.

Not much alterations have been done to the cabin except a minor update on the trim of the center console, air vents now get chromed linings and the steering wheel has been smothered with aluminum. On the ergonomic front, the cockpit is angled towards the driver and puts all the important controls within easy reach. The rear seats can be folded down in 40: 20: 40 configurations to increase the luggage capacity. Seats are electrically adjustable on both the driver and front seat passenger sides.

Assembled as a CKD at BMW’s Chennai Plant, the new X1 would be available in 2 additional variants viz. BMW X1 sDrive 20D xLine and BMW X1 sDrive 20D Sport Line. Featuring BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology and EfficientDynamics, the new X1 is claimed to be more sporting and efficient than its precursor. BMW EfficientDynamics optimises the ratio of performance to fuel consumption in the new BMW X1 with features such as Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction etc.

The BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System); and the BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System – GPS) with hard drive storage and 8.8-inch high-resolution display are standard on the new BMW X1 sDrive20d Sport Line and the new BMW X1 sDrive20d xLine.

The 2013 BMW X1 now comes with a 1995cc CRDi diesel motor mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox producing 184 bhp and 380nm of torque. 0-100 kph sprints have been clocked at 7.9 seconds with a top whack of 205 kph.
