2012 Geneva Motor Show: Honda’s 1.6 Litre Diesel Unveiled

Honda cars have always been popular in India. One reason that they are losing to rivals is the lack of diesel variants. Now, the popular Japanese manufacturer officially unveiled its 1.6-litre diesel engine at the Geneva motor show today. Honda claims that their 1.6 diesel is the lightest engine in its category and is expected to have 95g/km of CO2 emissions, This motor will find its home under the hood of the new Civic later this year.“With our Earth Dream Technology, we aim to be number one in terms of engine emissions within three years,” said Honda Motor Europe president Manuba Nishiru.The 1596cc oilburner pumps out a power of 118 horses and churns out 30.55kgm of torque.

  1. When it will come in India? In mid 2013 or early 2014? When Govt impose 80k to 160k extra duty on Diesel cars? When competitors brings same or even better option?

    What did Honda expect… Groom should be waited for 2 years for his Bride?

    Do anyone expected super refined 126HP diesel engine of fluidic Verna two years ago? But its reality now… Then what will happen, in next two years?

    Ohhh Come on Honda, Bring this oil burner, bring it fast… & fit it in the City… will love it….
