2012 Auto Expo: Piaggio Group showcases Aprilia RSV4 Factory and Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 GT

We recently posted about the Piaggio Group showcasing a scooter and a reverse trike at the ongoing Auto Expo at New Delhi. Now, the the Piaggio Group is also putting on display two superbikes. One of these is on it’s second visit to the Expo. The Aprilia RSV4 Factory is one of the most popular superbikes on planet and the sensuous bike features a 1000cc, 65 degree V-4 engine that pumps out 180 bhp@ 12,250 RPM and churns out a pulling power of 115 Nm@10,000 RPM. The V-4 is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox that offers seamless shifts between the well spaced ratios.The RSV4 Factory tips the scales at 179 kgs and wears 120/70 ZR 17 tyre (front) and 200/55/ZR 17 tyre (rear). The APRC package includes Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Launch Control and a Quick Shift feature. The RSV4 Factory is on sale in India and can be bought from Piaggio’s Pune dealership. The dealer also has the Tuono V4, Mana 850 and Dorsoduro 1200 on sale. Now, coming to the price. Moto Guzzi Norge Auto Expo

The second bike on display is from the legendary Moto Guzzi. Moto Guzzi is building fantastic bikes since around 90 years and the brand was taken over by the Piaggio Group in 2004. This bike is powered by a 1151cc, V-shaped, 90-degree transverse twin-cylinder, 4-valve engine that produces a power of 95 HP@7500 RPM and a torque of 100 Nm@5800 RPM. What makes the engine even better is the unmatched refinement it offers. The bike also features electronic ABS. The bike is ‘not so light’ at 246 kgs and the Norge 1200 GT boasts of a 23-liter fuel tank. Currently, the Piaggio Group has no plans to launch the Moto Guzzi brand in India.
