Exclusive Scoop! 2011 Volkswagen Vento 1.4 petrol coming soon!

Volkswagen India is gearing up for the introduction of the 1.4-litre variant of the recently launch Vento sedan. Continuing with its practice of positioning a car in almost every lucrative segment of the Indian car market, Volkswagen is expected to launch the 1.4-litre variant by Q1 2011 to take on the smaller variants of its primary rivals – the Fiesta, Linea etc. and the other cars in the 1.4-litre bracket like the Chevrolet Aveo, Tata Indigo Manza etc. The Volkswagen Vento 1.4 will use a 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 84hp (85PS) of power. The torque output is close of 132Nm which is decent for an entry level sedan. This 1.4-litre engine uses a multi-point electronic ‘indirect’ fuel injection system and is specifically designed to tackle low grade fuel like the one available throughout majority of India.

The Volkswagen Vento 1.4 petrol is expected to cost between Rs. 35-65,000 cheaper than an equivalent 1.6-litre petrol variant and is expected to go on sale by early 2011. The Volkswagen Vento 1.4 petrol test mules are currently doing their rounds in and around Pune city and Chakan MIDC. If you manage to spot one of these mules, click a spy shot/video and send it over to us at feedback@motoroids.com with the appropriate subject. Stay tuned to Motoroids as we bring you more info on this exclusive scoop!
