 Dubai has taken the initiative to attract racers from communities with very little or no motorsport history. The Suzuki Swift Cup in Dubai is a low cost racing series which is designed to attract racers from India, Pakistan, Philippines and various other Arab Nations as well. Sean Stevens is the mastermind behind the Suzuki Swift Cup.  The start of 2010 was slated to bring in a temporary halt for the two-stroke motorcycle racing in the country. The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) had earlier announced that the homologation of all two-stroke motorcycles would expire at the end of 2009. It is actually the duty of the motorcycle manufacturers to ensure that their motorcycles are homologated by the FMSCI so that customers can legally take part in organized track racing. No manufacturer was taking an initiative to ensure that their motorcycles get re-homologated before the time period lapses.The two-stroke racers and organizers were left with no choice other than attempting to sort out the issues themselves.

 Ten10 Racing has started the 2010 season on a winning note. Its team rider, Sarath Kumar has won the Endurance Race at the Meco Festival of Speed 2010 for motorcycles. The Endurance race was held at the Kari Speedway in Coimbatore and comprised of 66 laps along with a compulsory pit stop. Sarath displayed exemplary finesse in guiding his Yamaha R15 across the finish line. The race lasted for over 90 minutes and Sarath had to face quite a few dog-fights from on-track peers. During the qualifying lap, TVS Racing's TK Vishwanath clinched pole position while Sarath claimed second place. On the first lap of the final race, Sarath managed to gain an early lead.  The racing scene in India will be kicking off with a bang this year. MRF has announced it will be hosting the International Challenge 2010 at the Madras Motor Race Track at Sriperumbudur in Chennai. The event will be held across three consecutive Sundays starting from the 31st of January, then on the 7th of February and finally bending on the 14th of February. The International Challenge promises to the biggest motorsport initiative undertaken by the tyre manufacturer. At the International challenge 2010, spectators will get to witness the nation's best racers competing for motorsport glory in as many as seven categories.  Valentino Rossi has (once again!) completed a two day test with the Ferrari F1 team. The motorcycle racing legend drove a 2008 chassis Ferrari F1 car running GP2 specification tyres on Wdnesday and Thursday at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. The nine time MotoGP World Champion reportedly clocked a time of 1(m).21.900(s) during Wednesday's test on intermediate tyres under wet conditions. In 2008, Kimi Raikkonen had claimed pole position at the same track with a lap timing of 1(m).21.813(s). On Thursday as the track dried out Rossi completed the test running on slick tyres.
