A wholly-owned affiliate of ExxonMobil Corporation – ExxonMobil Lubricants Pvt Ltd has reaffirmed its partnership with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) with a mission to take Indian motorsports to a whole new level. The partnership will underpin across all three of the MSIL’s 2016 adventure motorsports events – Desert Storm, Dakshin Dare and Raid de Himalaya.
The 14th edition of Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm started off this year’s motorsport action with ExxonMobil’s flagship Mobil 1 as the official lubricant partner for the event. The 2,000km was conducted on 3 April 2016 in Noida and concluded on 10 April 2016 in Jodhpur in Rajasthan. More than 100 teams participated and steered through sand dunes and the rocky terrain of Hanumanagarh, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Mobil-branded engine oils are associated with many of the world’s popular and successful race teams and contribute to the growth of motorsports initiatives across the world, especially with Mobil 1’s alliance with some of the toughest races in the most extreme of conditions. Mobil’s presence in motorsports dates back to 1978 with a sponsorship of the Williams Formula 1 team. The brand’s 38 years in supporting Grand Prix racing has seen it partner three multi-race and championship teams. Mobil is also the Official Motor Oil of NASCAR, the Official Motor Oil of Formula Drift and the Official Motor Oil of the Sports Car Club of America.

After an adventurous finish at the rally’s prize distribution ceremony in Jodhpur, Paintal added that Mobil has always been synonymous with engine protection and performance, and has partnered leading automakers and award-winning race teams across the world – motorsports excites them as much as any enthusiast.
