Jaguar XJ L gets a new base variant in India. Powered by 2.0 litre Ecoboost

The Jaguar XJ has been on sale in India since some time now. The XJ is basically a Mercedes S Class adversary and offers high levels of opulence and comfort. We reported in detail when Jaguar launched the top end Ultimate Edition of XJ in Indian market and now, the car maker has decided to further expand the XJ line up in India by launching a new entry level variant. 

The new Jaguar XJ 2.0 Petrol LWB is powered by a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine that has a max power output of 240PS @5,500rpm and has a peak torque figure of 340Nm @1,750rpm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The manufacturer claims that the car can dismiss 100kmph from standstill in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 225kmph.

The new 2.0 litre petrol engine joins the 3.0 litre turbo diesel, 3.0-liter supercharged six-cylinder engine and 5.0-liter supercharged V8 motors in the XJ engine options list.

The new Jaguar XJ 2.0 Petrol LWB is expected to go on sale for a price of INR 1.1 crores.
