Ford GT LM Edition

Ford GT LM Breaks Cover As The Final Iteration Of The Supercar

Ford is about to wrap up production of its Le Mans winning star supercar -the Ford GT, with a last and final special edition to honour the only American car to ever do so way back in 1966 and in 2016. The new Ford GT LM Edition is available to order for approved Ford GT customers. The iconic sportscar will be sorely missed but the 20  Editions are a fine way to pay tribute & end this powerful journey.

Ford is rolling out only 20 such Ford GT LM Editions before ending production of its Grand Tourer sporting its 3.5-litre Twin Turbo EcoBoost V6 that makes 660 horsepower with deliveries beginning this fall. Visual upgrades for LM edition cars include Liquid Silver exterior paint with either a red or blue race-themed livery running throughout its carbon fibre body. This red or blue colour will also appear on the engine bay louvre and mirror stalks, with accents running in over the front splitter, rear diffuser, door and side sills.

The red or blue accented stitching, depending on the customer’s choice; will continue into the interior covering the Alcantara-wrapped carbon fibre driver seat with Alcantara and ebony leather making its way on the co-passenger seat, dashboard, headliner and pillars. The centre console, A-pillar and Air Con vents are also adorned with matte-finished carbon fibre. On the mechanical front, the car rides on 20-inch exposed gloss carbon fibre wheels with corresponding red or blue inner barrel accents, along with titanium lug nuts. Braking duties are handled by black lacquered Brembo callipers.

A unique 3D titanium-printed dual-exhaust featuring a cyclonic design inside the tips and above, a 3D printed titanium GT LM badge. The highlight of this package is a 3D-printed instrument panel badge of a bespoke alloy made from the powder of ground up crankshaft of the 2016 third-place finisher Ford GT No. 69. The American automaker will end the GT’s production in December, concluding the car’s run. Ford introduced the car in 2015 before production began in 2016 for the 2017 model. When production ends, Ford would have built 1,350 GTs, and these 20 are included in that total.
