Video: Porsche Cayman GTS visits a Go-kart track

A Go-kart is a lot of fun, testimony to that are F1 drivers who can’t resist the urge to drive one, even when they drive something as extreme as an F1 car all year long. Driving a decently powered pint sized car around a tight circuit with wheels that wouldn’t look out of place on a dinky car takes skills, and most Go-kart circuits feature tight corners which make it easy for a kart to spin around and lose traction if your driving skills aren’t knit together. So Porsche decided that this is the best place for the Cayman GTS to prove it’s leach like grip and got a man to drive one around a Go-kart track in Northern Italy.

For the ones who thought the 911 as the only fast Porsche, the Porsche Cayman GTS is the top of the line Cayman introduced in 2014. It features a more powerful engine, a new body kit, new 20 inch Carrera S alloys, new Bi-Xenon headlights, and new sports exhaust system over the vanilla Cayman. The car is longer than the Cayman and the Cayman S by 1.2 inches and the new sport suspensions allows the Cayman GTS to have a 20mm lower ride height. The engine produces 340hp, and can achieve a 0- 100 kph in 4.6 seconds. The Cayman GTS is capable of a top speed of 285 kph which it did not reach on the track, however, watching that red car go around a narrow piece of tarmac, sliding it’s rear wheels, affirms that the world is a curve and Porsche is out to play.
