Riding, they say, is a therapy. Those who ride know beyond argument that it really is, and a divine one at that. There’s simply no better way to travel and explore than having a motorised set of two wheels underneath you as you witness the sceneries whiz by and feel one with the nature. The physical connection with the road, the engagement of the entire body in the act and the very tactility of it makes riding an experience that hardly has any alternatives.

Even with all its virtues, however, riding comes with its own set of risks. A lack of awareness, training or preparation can spoil a ride meant to thrill and captivate, and leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. Such situations can be avoided to a very large extent, though, if you are well prepared for the ride in every way.

In this series named TVS Scooty Zest 110 Presents Get on the Road with Motoroids, sponsored by TVS Scooty Zest 110, we will compile a whole array of articles to better prepare you for the ride. We’ll take you through everything you need to make your ride safer and more enjoyable – from the equipment you need, economical ways to procure it to the riding techniques you need to be safe, while also being fast.

We’ll also share some remarkable ride stories with you during the course of this series to bring to fore the joys associated with riding. These anecdotes, we believe, will egg you on to ride, and motivate you to ‘Get on the Road’. With this series we’ll also put a special focus on women riders, to ensure that more and more members of the fairer sex join the happy tribe of riders, thus helping those of their ilk become safer and more efficient riders.

Here’s the first instalment in the series, depicting the amazing ride of Anam Hashim on a TVS Scooty Zest 110, traversing the Himalayas and conquering Khardung La. Do check it out and use the hashtag #GetOnTheRoad if you like the pieces. We’ll keep updating the list as and when we write new articles for the series.

  1. Recounting the Jammu to Khardung La journey by Anam
  2. Get on the Road with Motoroids Chapter 2 – Ride preparations and basic checklist
