Day three of India Speed Week saw Indian cars as well as imports set the tarmac afire at the Behala Flying Club air strip in Kolkata. Adding to the glamour quotient of the motoring event was renowned Bollywood celebrity Anil Kapoor and Tollywood’s ruling actress Nusrat Jahan. More than 7,000 visitors attended the event; the crowd and the participants of the speed fest were entertained by music bands Fossils and Underground Authority.
The event saw a slew of Indian as well as foreign cars scorch the track with their blazing speed. The highlights at the track included beauties such as the Ferrari 488 GTB, Lamborghini Huracan Spider, Audi R8, ferrari 458 Italia and many more.
Another highlight of the day was the finals of the spectacular fastest wheelie event. This event requires the participants to carry a wheelie throughout the quarter mile course and clock the best time. The winner of the event, Kaleem Pasha, who also won the two stroke 125cc, RD 350 and Indian Open events, blazed through the course – barely giving us a chance to click him on one wheel.
The India Speed Week 2016 was spread over three days and featured an eclectic mix of drag racing, adventure events, and auto expo by some of the most exotic car brands, a congregation of top celebrities and a fabulous rock show. The band performances through the three days brought forth rock, pop, indie rock, fusion music and much more to ring.
The India Speed Week2016 collaborated with Elite Octane Inc. and was approved by The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. Speaking at the final day of the India Speed Week, Anil Kapoor, the famous Indian actor said, “India Speed Week 2016 has given talent racers a platform to display their passion and urge to drag, in a much safer and secured environment, Kudos to India Speed Week’2016.”
Tollywoods’ ruling actress Nusrat Jahan was also present for the last day and made time to interact with the participant as well as the audience.
